History

httv is one of the leading international technology and solution provider for interactive digital TV.

httv was created in 1999 by 2 senior managers from Canal+ and OpenTV™ involved in the creation and the deployment of Mediahighway™ and OpenTV™ middlewares across Europe.

Head quartered in France in Grenoble in the Alps capital, with sales and marketing office in Paris, httv employs a large team of iTV and broadcast specialised engineers. httv is providing end to end solutions to deploy the whole range of interactive services across most digital TVmiddleware technologies: broadcast (OpenTV, NDS, MhP/OCAP, Irdeto...), IPTV and hybrid (HbbTV).

In january 2012, httv has taken majority stake in the Singapore based company SindiTV.

Set up in February 2007, SindiTV provides turnkey solutions for STB and TV manufacturers. It develops STB and TV software as well as Digital TV solutions for manufacturers of consumer products; Bespoke / custom software design, Software engineering outsourcing, hardware design. SindiTV works with major Asian STB and TV manufacturers (GMI, Prime Pesi, Zinwell, Skardin, etc.) and chipset partners (STMicroelectronics, Fujitsu Microelectronics, etc.). With 50% of the market share, SindiTV is also the largest STB software provider for the new HD+ market in Germany (over 600,000 STBs).

httv enables broadcasters, networks operators and content providers to benefit from the development of digital TV in order to offer to their customers a new range of interactive services and generate additional ARPU.

httv is the 2012 International iTV Awards « Grand Prix » winner. The company has been rewarded for all its action in supporting the development of the HbbTV standard.

   httv is a member of the oseo excellence network which comprise the  2000 most innovative  french SMEs.

Activity

httv offers:

  • STB software products:
    - “httvLINK” is an open middleware for STBs available for all TV distribution platforms: from pure broadcast (DVB-T/T2/S/S2/C-front ends) to pure IP (ipTV; OTT) and hybrid including both. The interactivity of this httvLINK is powered by HbbTV, the fast growing European standard. It offers an innovative UI and advanced features such as profiling, mosaic, hybrid EPG, etc.

    httv also offers STB solutions for the HD+SmartTV German standard.

    - “httvLITE” is a cost effective solution for STBs, supporting DVB zappers and PVRs, and deployed in a large volume in retail markets including HD+ and TNTSat.

    -Head-End Products: Play-out production solutions for HbbTV services, EPG and SSU, Lightweight play-out product for HbbTV services prototyping and demo, Video mosaic builder.

    httv is a major player in the HbbTV developments and head end equipments. It is deeply committed to the success of the standard and member of the HbbTV consortium and HD forum.
